1. Overview
StartClear is a personal prioritization workspace. This policy explains what information StartClear processes, why it is used, and the choices available to you. StartClear is designed so each user's workspace and optional calendar connections are kept separate from every other user's.
2. Information StartClear processes
Account information
When you sign in with Google, StartClear receives a stable Google account identifier and your verified email address. StartClear uses this information to identify and display your personal workspace. A ChatGPT account is not required.
Workspace information
StartClear stores the information you add, such as tasks, projects, outcomes, work schedules, time off, priority feedback, and activity history.
Google Calendar information
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, StartClear processes your Google account identifier and verified email, calendar names and settings, and upcoming event timing, status, transparency, and event type for a 30-day window. StartClear reads event data for no more than 20 active, relevant calendars during a sync. Event titles are requested and stored only for calendars where Review entries is enabled. Selected, non-reference calendars use that setting by default and you can turn it off per calendar. StartClear does not request event descriptions, attendees, or locations. It stores encrypted OAuth access and refresh tokens so you can choose to sync again later.
Public calendars and feeds
If you add an iCalendar, RSS, or Atom subscription, StartClear contacts that publisher to retrieve the feed. The subscription URL is encrypted at rest because some URLs contain private access tokens, and the complete URL is not displayed after connection. iCalendar events may inform capacity or review suggestions based on your source settings. StartClear retains subscribed iCalendar event titles and RSS/Atom item titles as integration context. RSS and Atom items are review-only and never reduce capacity or create tasks automatically.
3. How information is used
StartClear uses information only to:
- provide and save your personal planning workspace;
- rank and explain suggested next steps;
- estimate capacity from schedules and optional calendar context;
- sync the calendar accounts and public feeds you choose to keep active;
- protect, maintain, and troubleshoot the service; and
- respond to support, privacy, or security requests.
4. Google API data
StartClear's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Calendar data is not used for advertising, sold, or used to create unrelated user profiles.
StartClear requests basic Google identity information when you sign in. Read-only Google Calendar access is requested separately only if you choose to connect a calendar. StartClear cannot create, modify, or delete events.
5. Sharing and service providers
StartClear does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by the infrastructure providers needed to host, authenticate, secure, and operate the service, and by Google when you sign in or ask StartClear to retrieve Calendar data. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, the service, or others.
6. Necessary cookies
StartClear uses an HttpOnly, SameSite-protected session cookie to keep you signed in on the current browser for up to 30 days. It also uses temporary cookies during Google sign-in and Calendar authorization to prevent request forgery; those temporary cookies expire after approximately ten minutes. The hosting platform may use additional necessary technologies to secure requests and operate the service.
7. Storage and security
Workspace records are keyed to the signed-in StartClear user. Google OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest with user-bound authenticated encryption and are handled only by server-side code. Tokens are not placed in browser storage or shown in the user interface. No system can guarantee absolute security, but StartClear uses safeguards appropriate to the information it processes.
8. Retention and your choices
StartClear retains workspace information in its active database until it is reset or otherwise deleted. Google connection credentials and encrypted subscription URLs remain until you remove that connection or feed or reset StartClear. Removing a connection deletes its stored credentials and calendar-derived context from your workspace. Disconnecting a Google account does not itself revoke the Google-side authorization; you can revoke that authorization from your Google Account connections page.
The Factory reset control clears your saved StartClear workspace, disconnects all locally stored Google Calendar accounts, and removes all public calendar and feed subscriptions without deleting your sign-in account. Contact StartClear for other privacy or deletion questions.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as StartClear changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are published.
